MTV Movie&TV: Black Panther versus Infinity War

The superhero movie Black Panther has surpassed Infinity War to top the MTV Movie & TV nominees list with 6 nominations.

At the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards, the number of Black Panther nominations amounted to 6 which is double the number of Infinity War nominations. Specifically, Black Panther was nominated in the category: Best Fight, Best Movie and Best Cast.

The film also earned the lead actor Chadwick Boseman in two categories, including Best Hero and Best Performance in a Movie. Michael B. Jordan was nominated for Best Villain and Letitia Wright for Best Scene Stealer.

Meanwhile, Avengers: Infinity War is a bit weaker. It is a movie that brings together more than 20 Marvel superheroes and set a world record for the first weekend of theaters. However, this movie only received 3 nominations in the category Best Fight, Best Villain and Best Movie.

And US horror supernatural drama Stranger Things was nominated for six, including Best Performance in a Movie nomination for 14-year-old Millie Bobby Brown.

MTV has shown gender equality and gender flexibility in putting together male and female names in acting categories. The Best Kiss nomination category features Nick Robinson (Simon) and Keiynan Lonsdale (Bram) in the hit film about adolescent Love, Simon.
